The legacy of Patches
Our ministry, Paws of Praise, began eight years ago, inspired by my remarkable former therapy dog, Patches. A resilient Dalmatian-Labrador mix rescue, Patches touched countless hearts during her visits to nursing homes and community events. Her incredible journey, from surviving a horrific incident to becoming a certified therapy dog, was even featured in the Bluffton Community Newspaper. Though Patches is no longer with us, her spirit continues to guide our mission.
Angel joins our mission
After Patches passed away, I prayed for another companion to continue this special ministry. My prayers were answered with Angel, who is now taking Patches' place as a therapy dog. Angel will be an integral part of most of our entertainment sessions, greeting and ministering to residents in nursing homes, hospitals, and assisted living facilities before and after our songs. We believe Angel will continue to spread the same warmth and comfort Patches did.
Paws of Praise: Our continued ministry
Paws of Praise is dedicated to bringing joy and spiritual upliftment through music and the comforting presence of our therapy dog. While our ministry was previously sponsored by Therapy Dog International, with Patches' passing, we are now proudly sponsored by New Gate Church located in Hardeeville, SC. This partnership allows us to continue our vital work, touching hearts and making a positive difference in the lives of those we visit.
